Celine Dionis saying Donald Trump use of his songs will not continue… releasing a statement saying he did not authorize Trump to use “My Heart Will Go On” — and questioning his song selection.
The singer-songwriter’s management company released a statement a few minutes ago… saying they discovered that DJT and his running mate JD Vance played a clip of Celine singing the theme from “Titanic” at her Montana rally.
They’re making it clear… Celine did not give them permission to play the song, and she is not endorsing political candidates to use her music.
The statement ends with a question to the candidate… with the group questioning why Trump would use this specific song.
It’s a pretty odd choice, to be fair… and the addition of the video seems to make even less sense — but Trump is known for making some pretty eclectic choices with his pre-speech playlist.
People on social media noticed that he played a track from “The Lion King,” as well as other more conventional choices… but as far as we know, he only had Celine on video.
As Trump makes a celebrity cameo — albeit a non-consensual one — at his rally… Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are staying away from Hollywood.
We broke the story, the Harris/Walz campaign keeping your distance of celebrities for the Democratic National Convention… trying to avoid claims that the event is a “liberal Hollywood event.” That doesn’t mean no celebrity cameos — just fewer, according to our sources.
So Democrats are avoiding celebrities… and Donald Trump, you better avoid Celine — because it looks like she’s no joke.
We’ve reached out to Celine’s team for further clarification on her statement… so far, no response.
