Lara Trump says she changed her speech at the Republican National Convention after someone tried to attack her father-in-law… and what she did certainly resonated, especially with him.
Donald Trump‘s daughter-in-law — who is married to his son, Eric Trumpand who serves as co-chair of the Republican National Committee — took the podium Tuesday at the party’s convention in Milwaukee and delivered what many are calling powerful remarks.

Lara says nothing could prepare her or the rest of the Trump family for the assassination attempt which was unsuccessfully carried out by Thomas Matthew Crooks — noting that she had to turn off the TV to make sure her two young children, Trump’s grandchildren, didn’t keep watching.
She goes on to say that the Trump family as a whole has received its fair share of death threats — both verbal and physical — but seeing someone she loved nearly killed before her eyes was shocking… and yet, she says she’s more inspired than ever now.
The rest of Lara’s speech served as a fawning love letter to DT — highlighting how he demonstrated strength in that defining moment… and how she thinks that will carry over into a second term.
She argued that life under Trump was “better” during his presidency, and suggested that while not everyone might not like the way he talks sometimes… the results speak for themselves. She also said there’s a side of Trump that no one really knows… the grandfather side.
While she definitely hammered home a lot of MAGA talking points, her comments were relatively moderate and attempted to be unanimous in terms of tone… and she’s getting praise.
Day two of the Republican National Convention is officially over… Don himself is scheduled to speak on Thursday.
