We caught up with Paddy “The Baddy” as the MMA superstar prepares for his upcoming fight against. Bobby “King” Inexperienced at UFC 304 in Manchester, England. A battle for Pimblett that could set up a final with Dana White‘s promotion … ‘trigger is the final one in your deal.
Paddy has been asked about his future in recent interviews, and some felt he was signalling the need to move elsewhere.
Pimblett, however, tells us that this is simply nonsense!
“I need to be in the UFC, at the top of the game,” he said.
“No other MMA promotion comes close to this. I said something in an interview the other day, they usually take it out of context and put a post like I want to leave the UFC. It’s crazy how people don’t really pay attention to the interview and just jump on that little thing that’s being posted.”
Paddy seems to leave no doubt with his answer… he is happy where he is.
Looking ahead to his battle with Inexperienced, Pimblett says he is not intimidated by the 15th-ranked UFC veteran’s insulting tirade, going as far as calling the lightweight “smug.”
“It’s just him,” Paddy declared. “It’s his persona, he just says things. I’ll leave him to it.”
While Paddy stated he is looking forward to “punching him in the face,” … he is also excited to fight close to home in his native England.
“It’s nice to be a local,” he said. “It’s nice to be living again. Even the gigs we’ve done before have been in London, which is a four-hour drive away. Manchester is half an hour away.”
UFC 304 takes place on July 27th… and if Paddy gets his way, it won’t be his last return to the UFC!
