“How ethical is it for the prime minister to meet with a candidate… mayor, a former minister, when he doesn’t have time to see business leaders and when he’s never seen elected presidents?”
This is the question posed by Yannis Chatzitheodosiou, president of the Athens Chamber of Commerce, in his statement to Nautemboriki.
Hatjitheodosiou speaks of “gross interference in the elections to the Chamber in favor of Mr. Bratakos, who postpones the elections for 3 years until he himself has the opportunity to be a candidate”. As “N” explains, “we are in the 7th year, while we were elected for the 4th”.
Mr Hatzitheodosiou points out that there is another candidate in the EBEA from the same political area and wonders “Will he see him too?”.
Bratakou’s post causes reactions
It should be noted that the meeting was announced by Mr. Bratakos himself through a post on Facebook.
“As a candidate for President of EBEA, I met today in Megaros Maximos with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. I had the opportunity to present to him the basic principles and priorities of the combination that I represent for the future development of EBEA, so that it contributes even more to the creation of a stronger and more resilient economy. To take the Leap Together in the face of the new opportunities that open up!”, he wrote.
