Don’t worry UFC fans, if Paddy Pimblett he will remain with the UFC when his current contract with the promotion ends, he said TMZ Sports UFC is where he wants to be!!!
We caught up with Paddy “The Baddy” as the famous MMA fighter prepares for his upcoming fight against… Bobby “King” Green at UFC 304 in Manchester, England. A fight for Pimblett that could mark his last with Dana Whitepromotion of … because it’s the last one on his contract.
Paddy has been asked about his future in recent interviews, and some felt he was signalling a desire to go elsewhere.
Pimblett, however, tells us that this is nonsense!
“I want to be in the UFC, the pinnacle of the sport,” he said.
“No other MMA promotion comes close to this. I said something in an interview the other day, and they took it out of context and posted it as if I wanted to leave the UFC. It’s crazy how people don’t listen to the interview and just jump on that little thing that’s being posted.”
Paddy seems to leave no doubt with his answer… he is happy where he is.
Looking ahead to his fight against Green, Pimblett says he is not intimidated by the 15th-ranked UFC veteran’s taunts, going so far as to call the lightweight “arrogant.”
“It’s just him,” Paddy said. “It’s his personality, he just says things. I’ll let him do it.”
While Paddy said he’s looking forward to “punching him in the face,” … he’s also excited to be fighting close to home in his native England.
“It’s good to be local,” he said. “It’s good to be back home. Even the shows we’ve done in the past have been in London, which is a four-hour drive away. Manchester is about 30 minutes away.”
UFC 304 takes place on July 27th… and if Paddy gets his way, it won’t be his last return to the UFC!
