The wait is over! Katy PerryThe band’s first new album in four years is set to be released later this year.
On Wednesday, the 39-year-old pop star confirmed that her sixth studio album, titled 143will debut on September 20 via Capitol Records. It will be her first album since 2020 Smile. Her first single and video, “Woman’s World,” will be released on Thursday at 4 p.m. PT.
“I set out to create a bold, exuberant and celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic numerical expression of love 143 as the main message,” Perry explained in a press release.
The “Firework” singer looks ethereal in the album artwork by acclaimed British photographer Jack Bridgland.
“Packed with the kind of empowering, provocative pop anthems that fans love, 143 is an album with a lot of heart – and a lot of BPM,” the press release teased.
Perry’s female single, “Female world,” is described as “a powerful celebration of femininity in all its forms” in the press release.
Perry wrote the track with songwriter Chloe Angelides and producers Vaughn Oliver, Aaron Joseph and Rocco Did It Again! — as well as controversial producer Dr. Luke. This comes shortly after Dr. Luke Settles His Defamation Lawsuit With Kesha. The two resolved their contentious public legal battle in June, after nine years.
