Benji Gregory died. Multiple exits report that the child star, who played Brian Tanner in ALF in the 1980s, died on June 13 from causes not yet determined. He was 46 years old.
The actor’s sister, Rebecca, said TMZwho was the first to report the news that Benji was found dead in his car in a bank parking lot in Peoria, Arizona.
Rebecca believes her brother — who suffered from depression, bipolar disorder and had a sleep disorder that kept him awake for days — fell asleep in the car and died of heatstroke in the summer heat.
Benji was with his service dog, Hans, who also died during the incident, Rebecca told the outlet.
To honor Benji, Rebecca told the outlet that people can donate to Actors Equity Foundation or the Brazilian Psychiatric Association (ASPCA)causes he would have supported.
Benji began his TV career with guest appearances on The A team, Punky Brewster It is The Twilight Zone. About ALPHA, Benji played the middle child in a family that had an alien living in their house. The series also starred Max Wright, Anne Schedeen, and Andrea Elson.
