BACKGROUND GRID
Matarazzo Gatesis pushing for “Stranger Things” to pick up the pace… feeling the urgency to wrap up the final season because all the actors are growing faster than the Demogorgon’s appetite.
We caught up with the actor at LAX on Wednesday… and he made it clear that maintaining the illusion of still being a teenager on the Netflix sci-fi series is getting trickier, especially since he’s now 21 — up from 13 when he started filming the series.
But Gaten tells us that despite past delays, such as the writers strike and the pandemic, they’re now scrambling to bring fans an epic fifth and final season — and hopefully, so everyone can move on and explore new opportunities.
But Gaten is having a lot of fun with it all… even joking with us that he hopes his character Dustin Henderson gets killed off, but only at the end of the season, just so he can maximize his screen time.
However, while it took a while to get things off the ground, Gaten acknowledges that he feels incredibly lucky and that the whole experience has been life-changing.
Plot details for the final season are still a mystery, leaving fans wondering whether Stranger Things will pick up where Season 4 left off or jump forward in time… which could help keep up with the rapidly growing cast.
