Flau’jae Johnson reacts to Aries Spears’ comments
As The Shade Room previously reported, stand-up comedian Aries Spears took to Instagram with a “quick public service announcement” for Black women who choose to wear false eyelashes.
Aries recently took to social media to voice her disapproval of the dramatic false eyelash trend, particularly among black women.
Well, it seems that Flau’jae Johnson seems to have a different opinion regarding Aries’ statements. Recently, TMZ Hip Hop spoke to the LSU Tigers basketball player and rapper, and she said women should continue to “flaunt their lashes.”
“People always have something to say about women and what they wear. Honey, do whatever you want, wear whatever you want. Rock your lashes. I’m rocking mine,” Flau’jae said.
When asked about Aries comparing dramatic false eyelashes to BBLs on the face, Flau’jae quickly responded, saying: “I just think men need to stay in men’s places.”
Here’s What Aries Spears Said About Black Women and False Eyelashes
In the short clip, Spears made a plea to all black queens and then made an important request.
“To all my beautiful black queens out there, I want you to know from the bottom of my heart that I love you, I respect you… you are beautiful and you are a must. That being said, can some of you please, for the love of God, stop wearing those big fake eyelashes? Do you have no idea, are you not aware of how ridiculous that sh*t looks? You look like you have pterodactyl wings on your face. You don’t need that!” Aries said.
Aries also commented on women who, despite not having the correct proportions, choose to wear false eyelashes.
“And if you’re not proportioned correctly and you’re as skinny as Snoop Dogg, it’s just a horrible look. Those eyelashes look like BBLs for your face, you don’t need them!” Aries continued.
Flau’jae talks about collaborating with Lil Wayne
In addition to responding to Aries’ statements about false eyelashes, Flau’jae also spoke to TMZ about the success of her new album, ‘Best of Both Worlds’.
“It’s getting crazy, it’s streaming crazy right now. Make sure you guys catch this,” Flau’jae said.
PER TSR, the athlete’s new project includes collaborations with rappers Lil Wayne, NLE ChoppaIt is 2Rare.
Flau’jae also spoke about his collaboration with Lil Wayne. The newly released single, ‘Came Out A Beast’, marks their first song together.
“I haven’t really worked in the studio with him, but you know he gave me a lot of compliments. He told me my flow was crazy and that I needed to keep working hard. So that’s what Imma do,” she explained.
