Daniel Schneider has once again denied allegations of a toxic office while at Nickelodeon…along with allegations that young actors were sexualized on shows he created.
A representative for the veteran TV producer – the man behind hit Nickelodeon shows like “The Amanda Show” and “Drake & Josh” – says there is no reality to the claims made in ‘Quiet on Set’… stating that several adults were concerned with supervising all the characteristics of the exhibitions, with all the pieces being authorized by the community itself.
The statement further clarifies that the show’s scripts went through a rigorous vetting process, requiring approvals from the New York and Los Angeles networks… and if anything was deemed inappropriate, it could have been flagged and blocked through multi-layered scrutiny. .
The statement reads in part… “Please remember that all stories, dialogue, costumes and makeup have been fully authorized by community executives on two coasts. A standards and practices group read and ultimately authorized each script, and programming executives reviewed and authorized all episodes.
In addition to ensuring scripts are appropriate for children…parents, caregivers and their friends will be on set every day watching filming and rehearsals, adds Dan’s Camp.
Schneider’s statement comes after the premiere of the first two installments of ID’s doc, “Quiet on the Set: The Dark Facet of Kids TV,” where allegations surfaced that some of its shows appeared to sexualize young stars like Ariana Grande It is Jamie Lynn Spears in specific scenes.
The document also delves into allegations of sexism, racism and inappropriate habits involving underage stars and members of shows Schneider oversees — as well as allegations from crew members that they were repeatedly asked to massage Schneider on set.
Dan’s team responded to these allegations…previously saying: “Dan deeply regrets asking anyone for neck massages. Although they occurred in public settings, he knows this was highly inappropriate and would never happen again.”
