Marina Le Pen criticized the “moral lessons” of Kylian Mbappe, who the day before had called for “voting (the French) against the right” in the second round of the parliamentary elections.
“The French are tired of being lectured, of being told how to vote,” he told US channel CNN International, which broadcast an excerpt of the interview on social media.
“Kilian Mbappe is undoubtedly a very good football player,” admitted Marine Le Pen, who does not claim to be a football fan. But “this trend of actors, football players and singers telling the French people who to vote for is starting to feel very bad in our country,” she added.
Mbappe: It is urgent to vote, we cannot leave the country in the hands of these people
Especially when it comes to “millionaires or even billionaires living abroad” who are targeting “those who earn 1,300, 1,400 euros per month”, he stressed. “Those people who are lucky enough to live well, even to be protected from insecurity, poverty, unemployment (…) I think they should maintain a form of distance”, he said.
