Fred insists that even though they probably won’t, BET should issue an apology… saying, “I don’t think they should include anyone of that caliber — a wife beater, a murderer… I can’t imagine why they would include someone like that.”
He calls it a slap in the face to his and Nicole’s family… insisting that BET should have exercised more thought and sensitivity before making such a decision.
Nicole’s sister Tania echoed the same sentiment, telling TMZ: “It is inappropriate to give recognition to an attacker and murderer.”
Tanya said: “Whoever thought of doing this owes an apology to all victims of domestic violence… and that includes our family. And they should be fired.”
You’ll remember that Simpson was arrested and charged with the murders of Nicole and Ron in 1994… but the jury found him not guilty of the double homicides. The jury in the manslaughter case later found him responsible for killing them.
TMZ’s Tubi Documentary, “OJ how did he really do it,” chronicles Harvey Levin‘s experience covering the murder trial… with never-before-heard stories about the case.

Back at the BET Awards… the live audience seemed taken aback when OJ’s photo appeared on the screen during the “In Memoriam” segment, as an uncomfortable silence fell over the room for a few seconds.
JO died in April at the age of 76, a victim of prostate cancer, after several months in palliative care, which generated mixed reactions — some paid tribute to the athlete, while others were unable to separate him from his infamous past.
