Taylor Swift was very familiar with the song Simone Biles was expected to start her floor routine during the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials on Friday.
During the second day of the competition, Biles performed a stellar routine that kicked off with Swift’s hit “Ready for It.” Bringing energy, Biles performed a series of somersaults during her quest to earn a spot on the 2024 Olympic gymnastics team.
Swift, 34, became aware of the video — after it was shared on the official USA X Olympics and Paralympics account (formally Twitter).
“I’ve watched this so many times and I’m still not ready. She’s ready for this though👏👏👏🥇🇺🇸❤️,” Swift responded to the video on Saturday during her Eras Tour in Dublin.
On Sunday, the Olympic qualifiers were completed and the official women’s gymnastics team was announced.
Biles, a 37-time Olympic medalist, has secured her place and is officially heading to Paris for her third Olympics. Suni Lee, Jade Carey and Jordan Chiles – and 16-year-old world junior silver medalist Hezly Rivera complete the team.
Biles’ return to the Games comes after her dramatic exit during the 2020 Tokyo Games after suffering a mental block during the competition known in the gymnastics world as “twisties.”.”
Biles and several other American athletes are scheduled to travel to Paris later this month to represent Team USA during the Olympic Games, which begin July 23.
As for Swift, she is currently in the middle of her Eras Tour — which concluded a weekend race in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday. In the presence of Cheering her on in the VIP section were her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and longtime Swiftie, Julia Roberts.
