The Kremlin made its first comment on the result of parliamentary elections in Francestressing that this “confirmed the trend already observed in several other European countries”.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Moscow was closely following the French elections and that he considered the first-round result to reflect a pan-European trend.
“We are closely monitoring the development of these elections and the trends that have already emerged in several European countries, including France, are being confirmed. We will wait for the second round, although the preferences of French voters are more or less clear to us”, concluded Peskov.
