The French will be invited to go to the polls again for the second round of their elections. But again, this does not mean that Marine Le Pen will obtain an absolute majority.
Remember that the National Assembly has 577 seats, including 13 overseas constituencies and 11 constituencies representing French expatriates abroad. To ensure that a party needs an absolute majority 289 seats.

The Macron alliance (Ensemble) had only 250 seats in the outgoing National Assembly and always needed the support of other parties to pass a law.
In the first round, all candidates who fail to win will at least be disqualified. 12.5% of locally registered voters.
The winner is the person who obtains 50% of the votes with the participation of at least a quarter of the local electorate. This happens in few electoral districts.
The second round, on July 7, is a series of runoffs held by two, three or sometimes four candidates.
As we reported, some candidates may drop out to give an ally a better chance of winning. After all, there are many calls to defeat far-right candidates.
