Russia launched a missile attack hitting a 9-story apartment building in the central city of Dnipro Ukrainian on Friday, killing at least one person and injuring six others.
Interior Minister Ihor Klimenko warned the death toll could rise as people remain trapped inside the building while the top four floors collapse.
A photo posted by Governor Serhii Lisak on Telegram and other photos posted on social media showed a damaged building and smoke coming from a large hole on the upper floors.
A 7-month-old baby was among the injured, Lisak said. Three people were in serious condition.
The president Volodymyr Zelensky called on Ukraine’s allies to increase supplies of air defense systems to help the military repel regular Russian air strikes.
