Vithente Ibora said goodbye to Olympiakos with a long post on social media.
The experienced Spanish midfielder was instrumental in winning the Conference League, but as he highlights, he listened to his heart, meaning a return to Levante.
Ibora thanked everyone at the Piraeus club, from Cordon to the coaching staff and fans, saying he was happy to be part of the Reds’ greatest success.
Message from Ibora:
“I thank Olympiakos for everything and for a lot. Since I arrived and read that sentence I knew what my objective was. The respect, honor and pride in defending the brand and history of Olympiakos and the dedication and professionalism in the way of doing so have always been the foundations on which I rely to fight every day to make the club’s history greater.
As I told the club, it’s not that I don’t want to continue playing for Olympiakos, it’s just that now my heart asks for something else. Above all, I want to thank the club, Darko and Christian Karebe and Mr. Medilibar for their trust in me to continue helping, but I don’t want to be a problem in the team’s planning and I understand that we have to change moving forward to make Olympiakos champions again.
I want to thank those who trusted in me and gave me the opportunity to be part of this club. Thank you to Antonio Cordon, José Ignacio, Diego Martinez and their respective team, without you this story would not exist. I will never forget my colleagues, the management team and all the workers who treated me with great affection.
And above all, I don’t forget the fans, it was a privilege to enjoy and feel Karaiskakis’ atmosphere and passion. I hope you understand my decision, my heart speaks to me and I have to listen to it, but in that heart there will always be room for you. Happy and proud to have contributed to writing this beautiful page in the history of this great club. Olympiake, Piraeus, Greece, THANK YOU”.
