A surprising end to the fifth group of Euro2024, with all teams finishing with four points and Ukraine being the target of the dispute, as they finished last and were eliminated.
Romania in first place, Belgium in second and Slovakia in third secured tickets to the round of 16.
Romania and Slovakia drew 1-1, knowing that a draw would guarantee their continuation in the tournament. Duda opened the scoring for the Slovaks in the 24th minute, while Marin equalized from the penalty spot in the 37th minute. Both teams set the pace in the second half and felt comfortable with the security of a draw.
In the other match, Belgium looked bad, wasting a great chance early on with Lukaku and… that was it. Ukraine took a lot of risks in the final minutes, but Malinofksi and Sudakov both missed great opportunities to score the winning goal.
Ranking: Romania 4 (4-3), Belgium 4 (2-1), Slovakia 4 (3-3), Ukraine 4 (2-4)
