paris hiltonis advocating for voiceless children… testifying before Congress on behalf of children in the welfare system and touting her own achievements in space.
The socialite-turned-mogul was on Capitol Hill on Wednesday to testify about child abuse in the system — relating it to some of her own experiences — before diving into how she’s trying to address the problems.
Check out the clip… Hilton mentions that she helped ban several harsh disciplinary practices, including restraint and seclusion, and also pushed for an increase in site visits to hold those who run foster homes accountable.
But Paris says she also has hopes at the federal level … saying she wants Congress to reauthorize Title IV-B — a federal fund for state child welfare programs — and pass the Ending Institutional Child Abuse Act.
The bill was introduced more than a year ago — it has not yet been approved by the House or Senate — and would establish a more centralized system for tracking and implementing youth placements.
Of course, that’s just a small part of Paris’ testimony… because she once again detailed the physical, emotional and sexual abuse she says she suffered while in a residential youth treatment center.

Paris had already accused Utah’s Provo Canyon School from being more like an obedience boot camp, where she says students were locked up for 20 hours at a time and were often belittled by staff.
Although it’s not a child welfare residence, Paris says she sees a parallel between her trauma and what she says many children in the system face.
This isn’t the first time Paris has rubbed elbows with politicians for this cause – she went to the White House and spoke to senators in both sides of the aisle in 2022.
