Ottawa calls for the removal of Canadian citizens from Lebanon as quickly as possible due to concerns about escalating violence on the southern border between Hezbollah and Israel.
Ottawa repeated the appeal to them Canadians leave Lebanon while they still can, highlighting that the security situation in that country is becoming increasingly unstable and unpredictable due to the conflict between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hezbollah.
“Time to go”
“It is time to leave while there are still commercial options,” Canadian foreign policy chief Melanie Jolie said in a statement.
“My message to Canadians has been clear since the beginning of the crisis in the Middle East: this is not the time to travel to Lebanon. And for Canadians now in Lebanon, it’s time to leave while commercial flights are still flying.”
