Trey Songz is getting mixed reactions after sharing some music video footage from its archives. The singer claims he scrapped a music video with Tyga due to the lack of black women in it.
But just hours after sharing a snippet of the video on Instagram, the ‘Bottoms Up’ artist deleted it from his page.

Here’s what Trey Songz said about his “Scrapped” video
It’s unclear what prompted Trey to dig into his archives to get a first look at his “discarded” music video. However, as mentioned, he shared the footage on his Instagram on Tuesday (June 25).
The now-deleted preview featured Trey and Tyga in various scenes, from driving a car to dancing in an empty pool to standing still while more than 10 non-Black women danced and posed for the cameras.
“Files. I discarded this video because there weren’t enough black women in it. In Spain, the last time someone called me a ‘ni**er’ it didn’t feel right (shrug emoticon). Cold music, Traw my dawg @tyga,” wrote Trey Songz.
Two things to note here. First, it’s unclear when this video was filmed, and second, it’s unclear where it was filmed. Furthermore, it is unclear why his alleged experience with racism in Spain was included in his archival narrative.

Was the singer trolling his followers?
As mentioned, reactions to the now-deleted post were mixed. After the post was removed, Trey Songz shared another video. It appears to be a boomerang of him taking a mirror selfie with his abs on full display.
In the caption, he wrote: “Bae… How does trolling work? (upside down smile emoticon).
Tyga didn’t say anything about Trey’s throwback post. Meanwhile, on The Shade Room’s Instagram, the roommates couldn’t stop thinking about Trey’s claims about the discarded video.
@not.fallon wrote, “You filmed the entire video, but now you realize there weren’t enough black people in it? Boy, what do you want?
@keairalashae agreed, saying: “That’s him thinking we’re stupid enough to fall for this nonsense.. sir, you saw that when you filmed the video. But everything is fine…”
@naz716 added, “Nah, nah, he was trying to get ahead of that Internet slander.”
“Long story short, you need black women to listen to your music again. Nahhhh sir, we’re fine,” @theashbsmith added.
@classymandii chimed in, writing, “You guys are in AMERICA avoiding black women, but you’re going to shoot a video in a country where there really aren’t any AND YOU TRY TO MAKE A SHOW ABOUT IT!!! Leave us out of this and leave us alone!!!!!”
@thetammimacshow wrote, “I don’t think you ruled that out, because why do we see that?”
@alli_marie_- shared similar sentiments, writing, “But you’re sharing it now…sir, make sense.”
According to Trey’s Instagram story, he recently performed at Madison Square Garden, taking the stage with Fabolous.
Music aside, though, one of his last viral months came more than two months ago in April, when news broke that he had settled a sexual assault lawsuit against him. The settlement came ahead of a court hearing in September.
The anonymous woman sought $25 million for an alleged sexual assault incident that involved anal penetration resulting in physical and emotional injuries. It’s unclear how much they accepted in the end.
