William Shatner is open to reliving your Star Trek character Captain Kirk for another film.
The 93-year-old actor played the starship commander in three seasons of the original TV show between 1966 and 1969 and six films before the character was killed off in his seventh film appearance in 1994. Star Trek: Generations — but Shatner is convinced he’d be happy to bring Kirk back if the story made sense.
Speaking with The Canadian Press, he explained: “It’s an intriguing idea (bringing Kirk back). It’s almost impossible, but it was a great role and very well written, and if there was a reason to be there to not just make an appearance, but if there was a genuine reason for the character to appear, I might consider it. ”

Shatner went on to reflect on the use of technology that ages actors and would allow him to play a younger version of Kirk, as well as a scenario in which the captain could be physically resurrected.
He added: “A company that wants to freeze my body and brain for the future might be one way to do that. We have Captain Kirk’s brain frozen here. There is a scenario. ‘Let’s see if we can bring some of that, some salt, some pepper. Oh, look at this. Here comes Captain Kirk!
Shatner’s latest screen project is the documentary You can call me Bill which looks back on his life and career and he recently spoke about how he stays healthy into his 90s.
He told PEOPLE: “Just staying engaged in life, staying curious. But luck has a lot to do with health.”
“The energy of your life, the energy of the soul of your body is a product of health. If you are sick, you cannot have energy. You are dying. So my luck was: I was healthy all my life.”
