Ukrainian drones hit two Russian oil refineries and a military airport in a broad attack overnight, a Ukrainian security service source said today.
The source explained that Kiev had struck “key technological facilities” at two refineries in the Krasnodar region in southern Russia.
The attack was launched by Ukraine’s SBU security service, the source added, noting that the drones also targeted Kustshevsk military airport in the same region.
Russian authorities had already spoken of a fire at a refinery in the city of Slavyansk, highlighting that it had to suspend some of its activities.
“Operations at the refinery have been partially suspended,” said Eduard Trudnev, security director at Slavyansk ECO Group, which operates the refinery.
As he explained, “10 drones” hit the facilities, causing a huge fire. “There may be hidden damage,” she estimated.
