Katy Perry is preparing for its last finale as american idol judge. The 39-year-old pop star, who is currently in the middle of her final season on the hit music competition show, enjoyed her first live show on Monday night, working her way down from the Top 20 to the Top 14.
And as he continues to work through each week’s performances, Perry knows the end is near.
“I’m always emotional at the end, but, my God, when that ending comes, I might as well just stick the false eyelashes on my face,” Perry told ET’s Denny Directo after this week’s live show.
As for why she’s pulling away Idol After seven seasons, Perry insists this is in no way a retirement announcement.
“I’m just trying to make room for other things,” she explains. “It’s not like finishing this show means I’m going to retire on an island, even though that would be fabulous. I am going to work.”
Could part of this “work” be the elusive KP6 she joked on Instagram over the weekend?
“You’ll learn more when it’s ready for release,” Perry says of his rumored new music.
Perry’s last album was from 2020 Smilewhich featured the songs “Daisies”, “Never Really Over”, “Smile” and “Not the End of the World”.
Perry, who shares daughter Daisy Dove, 3, with her fiancé Orlando Flor He has a lot going on in his life, a fact his fellow judges understand.
“She has a baby and a family, she has new music and it’s going to be amazing,” said the judge Lionel Richie tells ET about Perry. “I’m rooting for her. I told her, ‘If you need help on the road, Luke (Bryan) and I will be there.'”
New episodes of american idol airs Sundays and Mondays at 8pm ET on ABC and streams the next day on Hulu.
