French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barot spoke today in Kiev with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sibykha about the “victory plan” and the second peace summit that the Ukrainian president intends Volodimir Zelensky.
This meeting took place less than a week after the president of Ukraine presented his “victory plan”.which aims to guarantee “a fair peace” vis-à-vis Russia, while Seoul warns of the presence of North Korean troops on Russian territory to reinforce Moscow’s forces.
“ONE Russia’s victory would confirm the law of the strongest and plunge the world order into chaos, and that is exactly why in our discussions (…) we must allow President Zelensky’s peace plan to be promoted”, said the head of French diplomacy, during an interview joint press conference with Sibiha.
In turn, his Ukrainian counterpart stated that he discussed “additional measures that must be taken to implement the victory plan”, highlighting France’s support for the “path to (Ukraine’s) accession to the EU and NATO”, a key point of the Ukrainian head of state’s plan.
The two ministers also made statements about the information coming from the South Koreawho yesterday spoke of a decision by North Korea to send up to 12,000 troops to help Russia in its war against Ukraine. According to Seoul, 1,500 North Korean soldiers are already training in the Russian Far East before being sent to the front.
Baro estimated that this news would be “extremely serious”, if confirmed, because with this “the conflict would enter a new phase, a phase of new escalation” and a “Russia’s export of war to Asia».
“We are not talking about mercenaries (…) we are talking about North Korean military units who will be involved“, stressed the Ukrainian minister, for his part. He spoke of a “huge threat of escalation” and the risk that the war “would grow beyond current borders”.
Tomorrow, baro will move “to the eastern part”announced during the press conference, not far from the front line, where Russia continues to advance.
