The National Theater’s award-winning production “Goodbye, Lindita”, created and directed by Mario Banussi, after consecutive sold-out performances in the last two theatrical seasons and in full European tour, returns to the Main Stage of the Chiller Building, for a limited number of performances in Athens.
“Goodbye, Lindita” focuses on a primordial human experience, that of losing a loved one. In a house, a family cries in silence, until a series of paradoxical events opens a window into a world where memory is confused with fantasy and reality with dreams.
Mario Banussi, a young multifaceted creator who proposes a personal and artisanal visual theatrical universe, draws inspiration from his own experiences and the customs and funerary traditions of the Balkans to create, together with a group of talented artists, a scenic poem about loss. . Without ever hearing the faces speak, we witness their journey, an inner journey that tries to answer an eternal question: how do we say goodbye to a very loved person?
The play “Adeus, Lindita” was presented at the National Theater in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 seasons, receiving excellent reviews from the public and critics. He received two important honors at the Bitef International Festival in Belgrade: the Bitef “Jovan Ćirilov” Special Award for rare contribution to theatrical art and the “Politika” Award for best direction.
After Belgrade (Serbia), Dresden (Germany), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Adelaide (Australia), Munich (Germany) and Stockholm (Sweden) and with an intermediate stop in Athens, the show will continue its European tour until December 2024.
The sets and costumes are designed by Sotiris Melanos, the music by Emmanuel Rovithis, the lighting by Tasos Paleoroutas and the videos by Nikos Pastras. Distribution (in alphabetical order): Chrysi Vidalaki, Babis Galiatsatos, Eleni Abia Nzanga, Erifuli Kitzoglou, Katerina Christos, Mario Banoussi, Vassiana Skopetea and Alexandra Hassani.
