David Porto is making big promises about the upcoming finale of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” … currently in production for its fifth and final season.
The actor, who played Sheriff Jim Hopper throughout the drama’s run, attended the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast celebration at New York Comic Con on Thursday and talked about what’s to come in the show’s final installment. .. including the last episode of the series. always.
As David said… the series finale will be “the best episode (the Duffer brothers) have ever done,” sharing the cast who broke down in tears during a recent read-through.
While David admitted he might be “too critical” of the series given its closeness to the story and its characters, he promised the series finale will leave viewers satisfied.
He added… “They landed the plane… At the end of this episode, when we were reading – just us reading – halfway through, people started crying.”
By David, co-star Noah Schnapp had the strongest reaction… saying she was “crying uncontrollably” during the last 20 minutes of the reading.
While this rumor definitely has us worried about Noah, Will’s character, and their closest friends – here’s looking at you, Finn Wolfhard and Millie Bobby Brown – David tried to dismiss the emotional reaction as nostalgia…since filming, the show spanned much of the cast’s childhood.
He continued… “It’s been 10 years and we’ve looked at this idea, and it’s so well done and so beautiful… It’s such a good episode and such a good season. You’re going to love it.”
Netflix has not yet announced the premiere date for season 5… but it is expected to happen next year.
In fact, with Noah apparently getting emotional, the question has to be asked…
