More UK stars are showing their love for Liam Payne online… with both Sharon Osbourne and Robbie Williams sending messages to the late One Direction star.
Osbourne — who was a judge on “The X Factor,” though not when One Direction formed on the show — posted to Instagram on Thursday … saying her heart goes out to Liam and claiming the entire industry has let him down.
She says LP was just a kid when he came into the music business… and she doesn’t think there was enough protection for him – asking “Who was by his side?”
Robbie Williams – a rock star in his own right – posted about meeting Liam and the whole 1D crew back in the day… calling all the youngsters “cheeky and adorable.”
Williams says he particularly connected with Liam in the years that followed, as the young singer dealt with mental health, drug and alcohol issues similar to his own. Robbie says he tried to help Liam through his trials as he could empathize with him… adding that he has reached out a lot over the years.
The Take That member reminded fans that no one really knows what’s going on in another person’s life… so sometimes it’s hard to tell what pain others might be living with.
He opened up about his own relapse when he was Liam’s age… saying he remembers the actor Heath Ledger passing by and simply thinking that I would follow the same path next.
Ed Sheeran – who was close to Liam and his One Direction bandmates for writing songs for the band – issued his own statement on Friday. In his tribute, Ed said he was “speechless”, sending his love to LP’s family and loved ones.

He added… “All the memories I have of him are great, such a heartbreaking situation.”
As you know… Liam fell to his death Wednesday, from the third-floor balcony of his hotel in Argentina. At least one Buenos Aires law enforcement official said Liam jumped.
A hotel employee called authorities before Liam’s death… saying a guest was “overwhelmed” by substances and that staff had been unable to access his room for several days.
