On Monday, the 2025 Audi RS 6 Avant GT debuted as the swan song for the current fire-breathing wagon that channels the automaker’s IMSA racing legacy.

Audi said it will build 660 units globally with production starting in the second quarter, and only 85 of these cars will reach the US market. The production schedule is a bit unknown due to some parts being made by hand, but Audi aims to start delivering cars before the end of the year. Each one goes cost $198,900.
The RS 6 Avant GT is a production version of the RS 6 GTO concept from 2020. Both pay homage to Audi’s IMSA GTO race car that dominated the series in the early 1990s.

Every RS 6 Avant GT that arrives in America will be painted Arkona White and feature a model-specific decal package that resembles, but is not the same as, Audi’s 1990s race car. standard assembly of the A6 in Neckarsulm, Germany, but will then be transferred to the automaker’s Bollinger Höfe plant, where the R8 and E-Tron GT are manufactured, for final manual assembly.
There, the RS 6 Avant GT will receive a carbon fiber hood, wider carbon fiber front fenders with air extractors at the rear near the door edge, a new front bumper with a triple mail opening at the front like ’90s race cars and a flatter grille with mesh insert, a set of side skirts and a carbon fiber rear bumper with a functional diffuser and vertically centered reflector like a race car. A dual rear wing acts as the finishing touch, although North American cars lose this touch and make do with a GT-specific roof spoiler without roof bars.

Inside, the RS 6 Avant GT features a black interior and, in other markets, carbon-backed sports seats up front with honeycomb suede material. The US won’t get them and will feature standard RS 6 Avant Performance seats with red and copper stitching. Each car will have a build number on the center console.
Under the hood, Audi’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 stands out 621 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, as with the RS 6 Avant Performance. An 8-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive remain standard. Audi says the RS 6 Avant GTs receive new tweaks to the Quattro sport differential for greater rear power split in Dynamic driving mode.
Top speed reaches 190 mph and 0-60 mph sprint remains 3.2 seconds.
Every RS 6 Avant GT will be equipped with a set of manually adjustable coilover shock absorbers with higher spring rates. The coilovers lower the ride height by 10mm and feature three-way adjustment. Audi said a lift is needed to adjust the coilovers. Stiffer stabilizer bars (30% front and 80% rear) were installed to help combat body roll when cornering. Carbon-ceramic brakes are standard.
