George Baldock’s body has been in England since Thursday night, where he will be buried on October 30th.
On Wednesday morning, a modest and respectful private ceremony was held in the civil burial room of the First Cemetery of Athens.
His people and teammates from Panathinaikos and the National Team were present, along with club and EPO officials to say goodbye to their colleague, friend and teammate.
The late international’s teammates left a flag and a trefoil shirt, but also a Greek national team shirt with the number “2”, with the signatures of all the international players.
His coffin, as a sign of the highest honor, was covered with the Greek flag, before beginning, a day later, the journey to his native England.
