Israeli President Isaac Herzog called for the return of hostages still held in the Gaza Strip, immediately after confirming the death of the Hamas leader Yahya Sinuar.
“Now, more than ever, we must act by all means possible to bring back the 101 hostages who are still being held, in horrific conditions, by Hamas terrorists in Gaza,” he said in a statement published on Platform X.
The Israeli president added that Sinwar was “responsible for disgusting acts of terrorism.”
“To immediately capitalize on this very important development”
Meanwhile, the Families Forum, the main association of family members of hostages in Israel, said that Sinuar’s death is expected to help “guarantee” the return of hostages still held in the Gaza Strip.
“The Hostage Families Forum welcomes the news of the murder of Yahya Sinwar and calls for the immediate use of this very important development to secure the return of the hostages,” the association said in a statement.
