donald trumplooks forward to working closely with some of the best Congress has to offer… saying Katie BrittHe is a “fantastically engaging” person – before mentioning that he is a US senator.
The 45th POTUS appeared at a Fox News town hall in Georgia on Tuesday, where he spoke about women’s issues in front of an all-female crowd… talking specifically about IVF treatments – even calling himself “the father of in vitro fertilization” in a single, remarkably bold statement.
An audience member addressing the DJT notes that the right to abortion is the purview of the states, not the federal government… and she asks if the same should be true of in vitro fertilization.
Trump immediately launches into an anecdote… describing Kate Britt as a “fantastically engaging younger person from Alabama,” then mentions that she’s a senator — a sideline of sorts.
He goes on to say that a ruling ended IVF in Alabama, and Britt received a lot of criticism for it. However, once she explained the path to Trump, he said he immediately told her he was all for it… saying his potential administration would go smoothly with IVF.
Trump mentioning that Britt’s resume appears to have happened before her resume in a room full of female voters has left many people shocked online — and, we must say, it’s not a major pursuit for a man courting female voters.
ICYMI… the Alabama Supreme Court ruled in February that embryos created through IVF are protected by the Wrongful Death of a Minor Act – saying such embryos are considered children. The decision caused several IVF clinics in Alabama to cease operations.
It looks like Trump is fully supportive of IVF now…although hopefully Senator Britt doesn’t seem to be too disruptive to him.
