MMA star “Platinum” Mike Perry was upset during his arrest for drunk driving…calling officers homophobic slurs while being handcuffed and placed in the back of a police car.
TMZ Sports obtained body camera footage of the 33-year-old’s traffic stop around 1 a.m. Saturday in Florida … in which he was initially pulled over for speeding.
During the stop, officers told Perry he smelled of alcohol, but he insisted he had not been drinking before getting behind the wheel. In the police report, they also state that he had difficulty maintaining his balance when getting out of the car and his eyes were red.
When asked to get out of the car, the footage shows Perry refused to take field sobriety tests… and was immediately arrested.
When Perry was handcuffed, he shouted to his wife: Latoriumand told them he was being arrested. She asked if they knew who he was, and he replied, “They know exactly who I am. Yes.”
When the cops spoke to Latory, she once again tried to play the “he’s a professional wrestler” card… but they explained to her that Perry wouldn’t receive any special treatment.
Latory – who showed no signs of being intoxicated – was allowed to drive Perry’s Mercedes home.
Perry was finally accused of driving under the influence and refusing to sign a citation demanding a court appearance – both misdemeanors.
Perry was arrested and released a few hours later after posting $1,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
