Employees of the luxurious building where Pete Rose lived attempted to do a welfare check on the MLB legend just hours before he was found dead by his son, but received no response from the king of success… a 911 call obtained by TMZ Sports reveals.
The emergency call to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department was initiated by workers at Panorama Towers in Sin City at 2:54 p.m. They told dispatch they tried to check on Rose about two hours earlier, but despite knocking on the door, they got no response.
Staff told the operator they could hear a television playing loudly inside Rose’s unit.
When no one responded, Pete’s son Tyler was contacted… and went straight to his father’s house.
During the call, the construction workers revealed that Tyler had gone up to his father’s unit… and the rumor was that Pete was dead.
Of course, we told the story… 83-year-old “Charlie Hustle” was found deceased on September 30, just before 3 p.m.
Medical authorities told us that Rose died of complications from heart disease.
On Sunday, the day before his death, Rose traveled to a book signing in Nashville… where he was able to spend time with his Big Red Machine teammates.
In truth, Tony PérezPete’s longtime friend and teammate at Cinci told us his friend wasn’t feeling well at the event.

After the meeting, Rose boarded a plane and flew back to Nevada.
According to police documents, Rose’s assistant tried to reach him on Monday morning, and when she was unable to reach him, she likely called the apartment complex in an effort to make sure her boss was okay.
It was then that the workers went to check on Rose…unfortunately to no avail.
Pete was pronounced dead by the local coroner at 3:21 p.m.
