Toyota Taisor teased, to get slightly different styling compared to the Fronx
Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor unveiled ahead of its April 3 launch. The rebadged version of Maruti Fronx is ready to hit the showrooms. It will be the fourth product from the Suzuki Toyota partnership in the Toyota India lineup.
Although the price announcement/reveal will take place on April 3, Toyota will begin deliveries at the end of April. Toyota tweaked the styling in line with its design DNA. While most panels will remain more or less the same, the soft parts will undergo significant changes.
The front profile gets a new grille pattern, new LED DRLs configuration, new bumper and, of course, the Toyota logo on the nose. The side profile is expected to come with different alloy wheel designs. The rear may also undergo small changes to the lights and bumper. Toyota may offer different color tones for the Taisor.
The interior will remain the same except for the Toyota badge on the steering wheel and some color tone changes on the upholstery and dashboard. The Japanese automaker will offer the same features including infotainment system with 9-inch touchscreen, Arkamys speakers, automatic climate control, keyless-go with push button start, HUD, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, etc.
It will be powered by the same engine options, including a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder unit with 89.7 PS and 113 Nm and a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder unit with 100 PS and 147.6 Nm. The 1.2-litre NA engine is paired with 5-speed MT or AMT, while the turbo petrol engine gets a 5-speed MT or 6-speed AT.
Toyota may consider introducing the CNG version of the Taisor a few months after launch. What do you think of the new product designed for badges? Let us know in the comments section below.
