The rebellious Wilson shared more details about his experience working on the 2016 action comedy “The Brothers Grimsby.”
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Wilson said she felt “disrespected on set” but did not communicate her fear of being labeled a “troublemaker.”
“It ended up being the worst professional experience of my career,” she added.
Wilson played Daybreak Grobham, the girlfriend of Sacha Baron Cohen’s dim-witted character Nobby. On social media, the “Pitch Good” star alluded to a “big loophole” she’s already worked with that is trying to prevent her from publishing her upcoming memoir “Insurgent Rising”; she revealed on Monday that it was Baron Cohen.
“I can’t be bullied or silenced by expensive lawyers or PR crisis managers,” Wilson wrote in an Instagram update. “The ‘gap’ I’m talking about in ONE CHAPTER of my guide is Sacha Baron Cohen.”
In addition to starring in “The Brothers Grimsby,” Baron Cohen served as co-writer and producer.
Wilson told The Sunday Times that she believed her “Brothers Grimsby” costumes were chosen to “see all the cellulite on my thighs and a height to show the fattest part of my arm… as if I were something to laugh at, degraded by to my size.”
She added: “It’s one thing for someone who is fat to take advantage of your size for comedy, but it’s another for someone else to humiliate you.”
Baron Cohen has denied Wilson’s claims that he is trying to stop her from publishing her memoir, which features a chapter that exposes her inappropriate conduct.
“While we recognize the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are immediately contradicted by detailed and detailed evidence, including contemporary documents, footage and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of ‘The Brothers Grimsby.’ ‘” stated Baron Cohen in a press release for Selection by a spokesperson.
