Zoe Saldaña admits she is “nervous” about what will happen on election day. However, she refuses to give up any hope.
“I’m nervous,” Saldaña informed me on Tuesday at the “Emilia Pérez” premiere in Los Angeles. “But once again, I was even more nervous in 2016… Of course, I’m scared and nervous, but I have faith that we will choose a trailblazer who best represents who we truly are as human beings.”
Although Saldaña did not explicitly state who she would vote for in November, she publicly supported Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for president and vice president, respectively, in the 2020 elections.
“I also have several religions in my country, in America,” she added. “I have many religions in people in the world. I know there are more people who don’t want to be on the right side of history… We spend too much time judging and never enough loving. At the end of the day, I don’t want to understand every individual and their decisions. I just know that I need to make space for everyone and their choices, and that is extremely important and has to do with the deep level of respect I have for people, and I can only hope that others feel like I do, you know? I have no alternative but to be like this. I’m a mother, so I’m raising kids to be hopeful, loving, kind, gentle and non-judgmental.”
Harris has received super support from the leisure community in the upcoming election against former President Donald Trump. Hollywood figures who have expressed their support for Harris and her operating partner, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, include George Clooney, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lawrence, Billie Eilish, Cher and more.
On Wednesday night, Eminem introduced former President Barack Obama at a Harris-Walz rally in Detroit.
“I’m encouraging everyone to vote, please,” Eminem said. “I also think people shouldn’t be afraid to express their opinions, and I don’t think anyone wants an America where people are worried about retribution, or what people will do if you make your opinion known. I believe Vice President Harris supports a future for this nation where these freedoms and many others are protected and defended.”
