A “just peace” in Ukraine’s demand during the BRICS summit, the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres. It should be noted that the Russian president was also present at the meeting, Vladimir Putin.
“In all areas we need peace,” Guterres told BRICS leaders at the summit in Kazan.
“We need peace in Ukraine. A just peace in accordance with the United Nations Charter, international law and General Assembly resolutions,” he said, while Putin remained speechless.
“The Secretary General said that we should all live like one big family”, “unfortunately, in families there are often quarrels, scandals, disputes over property and sometimes there are even fights”, replied the Russian President.
He also called for peace in the Middle East
Guterres also called for an end to hostilities in the Middle East, in a context of total escalation, especially between Israel and Hezbollah, or even in Sudan.
“We need peace in Gaza with an immediate ceasefire, the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages” or even the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid, he said.
“We must make irreversible progress to end the occupation and create a two-state solution,” he insisted, referring to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
GG also asked “the immediate cessation of hostilities in Lebanon”.
