On October 14th, SKY Express launched direct flights from Athens to the capital of Albania, offering flights every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
With this new connection, SKY Express expands its reinforced network, while by the beginning of December it will add flights to Yerevan, Tbilisi, Istanbul, Prague, Vienna and Amsterdam. Thus, the company now serves 22 international destinations throughout the year.
Flights from Athens to Tirana will be operated with ATR 72-600 aircraft, ideal for regional connections and with an average age of just 2 years.
“After a successful summer that strengthened our presence in international markets, we are particularly happy to continue expanding our network. The new direct flight to Tirana, a European capital of strategic importance in our network due to the strong ties between Greece and Albania, offers Albanian passengers access to the largest network of 33 destinations in our country. Our goal is to continue offering reliable, quality and economical options, strengthening connections between the two countries and at the same time contributing to the development and extroversion of our country”, said Gerasimos Skaltsas, Commercial Director at SKY express.
Piervittorio Farabbi, Director of Operations and Responsible Manager of Tirana International Airport, said: “The arrival of the direct SKY Express flight to Tirana International Airport highlights the attractiveness of Tirana and the country itself as a destination. We are particularly pleased that a constantly growing airline, with one of the newest, most modern and efficient aircraft fleets in Europe, has decided to invest in our airport. SKY Express will significantly contribute to the increase in flights to Athens, but also to dozens of destinations in Greece and abroad, which should attract the interest of our passengers.”
