A New Jersey family is suing Camden’s Boyd Funeral Home after accusing the establishment of placing the wrong body in their loved one’s casket.

Here’s Why Camden’s Boyd Funeral Home Is Accused of Putting the Wrong Body in a Casket
According to NJ.coman 81-year-old husband and father passed away on February 11, 2023. His family later arranged for Camden’s Boyd Funeral Home to host his viewing and cremation.
However, on February 17, the man’s family arrived at the funeral to check on the preparations. They reportedly discovered another dead body in their loved one’s coffin. Furthermore, the visit took place one day before the date scheduled for the loved one’s service.
“(Family members)… were immediately distressed and angry when they saw another unrecognizable corpse dressed in (their) clothes and belongings,” states the family lawsuit, which was reportedly filed on September 5, by NJ.com.
Furthermore, during the visit, a funeral home employee showed the company director’s family texts. They would have shown the officer insisting that the body in the coffin was correct. At the time, a makeup artist also tried to convince the family that the body in the coffin was that of a loved one.

The next day, the family returned to the funeral home and found the correct body inside the coffin. Despite this, the group notes that the previous ordeal caused them “significant emotional distress.”

To observe, PEOPLE reports that the family is seeking a jury trial and “compensatory and punitive damages.” Additionally, the outlet notes that the family’s loved one was a man named Addison Jenkins. However, NJ.com does not note the man’s identity.
Two women made headlines after allegedly taking off with a dead body earlier this year
In March, two women made headlines for alleged actions involving a dead body. As The Shadow Room Previously reported, Karen Casbohm and Loreen Bea Feralo were accused of misusing the corpse of an 80-year-old man named Douglas Layman.
Layman reportedly died while living with the two women. They later allegedly placed his body in a car and drove to his bank’s drive-thru. While there, the pair allegedly placed the body in plain view of bank tellers and withdrew $900 from the man’s account.
They were later said to have left the body at a hospital and were later taken into custody and charged.
