Surfer and influencer Giulia Manfrini died aged just 36… after being attacked by a swordfish in Indonesia.
The tragic incident happened earlier this month on Masokut Island, a popular surfing spot… when a swordfish jumped out of the water and hit Manfrini in the chest.
Manfrini reportedly suffered a two-inch deep wound… and was taken to a nearby health clinic. Unfortunately, she did not survive.
“You navigated life and traveled the world doing what you loved most,” one of his 22,000 Instagram followers said of his death in the comments.
“You left this as a lesson. Live enjoying life to the fullest and die doing what you love most. I hope she didn’t suffer too much. Cloud surfing. 💔”
Manfrini had professional snowboarding experience before falling in love with surfing. She also worked as an instructor… and co-founded AWAVE Travel.
Manfrini calls herself a “surf bubbly” – a person who is passionate about surfing – and addicted to pow (snow sports).
Her death occurs a month after the surfer Jorge Alvarado hit his head while surfing the waves of Daytona Beach, Florida. He was 49 years old.
