Following their away victory in Romania last week, the Olympiakos men’s volleyball team tonight defeated Corona Brasov for the second time with the same scoreline, 3-0 (25-23, 30-28, 25-23) and ranked among the top 20 in Europe for the second consecutive year.
The “red and whites” advanced triumphantly to the group stage of the CEV Champions League, after two sets won were enough to qualify, but Andrea Gardini’s players wanted to combine that with a second victory and they did so.
The Piraeus team had a party in the service position, counting 9 aces, with 10 blocks, the MVP Pagenk and the top scorer, the formidable Atanasievic with 21 points in the second game of the 3rd qualifying round.
In the groups of the main European club competition, the champion and winner of the Greek Cup will face Italian Monza, Turkish Fenerbahçe and the Grizzlies (Germany).
