Matthew McConaughey It is NOT “alright, alright, alright” with Texas fans throwing trash on the field during Saturday’s game against Georgia…telling students to “clear up this kind of bullshit” and move forward better.
As we previously reported, UT was hit with an effective of $250,000 for throwing bottles and debris after a controversial interference call in the third quarter of the contest… which briefly delayed the action at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
The actor – who also serves as Minister of Tradition for all matters relating to UT – was unhappy with how things were turning out… releasing a statement aimed at the student body.
McConaughey began by praising the fans for bringing energy and giving the Longhorns home-court advantage despite the wasted effort… and then shifted his focus to the ugly scene that unfolded.
“But let’s be realistic about the bottle bombing and industry failure we’ve had,” MM said. “It’s not cool. Bogeyman transfer. Yes, that decision was bullshit, but we’re better than that. Longhorn Nation knows how to present itself, show itself like no other and still preserve our class.”
MM said fans could make up for it by keeping their trash to themselves and maintaining their passion…starting with the Longhorns’ next home game against the Florida Gators.
