The two pilots missing after an electronic warfare aircraft crashed during a training flight early last week in a mountainous area in Washington state were officially declared dead by the US Navy on Sunday.
The aircraft, an EA-18G Growler, crashed last Tuesday east of Mount Rainier.
Investigations
Search and rescue teams carried out an operation to locate the crash site and the crew.
Last Wednesday, authorities confirmed that the wreckage of the electronic warfare aircraft was located at an altitude of around 1,800 meters, in an isolated, rugged and vegetation-covered area.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
