Strawberries can be considered a gourmet fruit that accompanies spirits such as cognac and champagne or is consumed with whipped cream and various sweets, but a research team with publication in the journal “Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition” the research team also reveals its previously unknown benefits for the human body.
According to researchers, daily strawberry consumption improves lipid metabolism and inflammation outcomes in people at increased cardiovascular risk and is a natural and delicious way to support heart health and cholesterol control.
“Strawberries provide a number of health-promoting phytonutrients, including phenols, polyphenols, fiber, micronutrients and vitamins. The goal of our review is to provide a comprehensive summary of recent human studies linking strawberry intake and phytonutrients with human health,” says Roberta Holt, a researcher at the University of California.
