Alex Baldwin made an unexpected return to “Saturday Night Live” months after charges against him were dropped in the “Rust” case — and he addressed Kamala Harris‘Heated interview with Bret Baier.
Baldwin, who used to play donald trumpinstead, he played Baier alongside Maya Rodolfo as Vice President Harris … recreating last week’s Q&A between the Fox News anchor and the Democratic presidential nominee for Saturday night’s cold open.
It was Baldwin’s first appearance on ‘SNL’ since manslaughter case was suddenly dropped in July because prosecutors in the “Rust” shooting case withheld evidence.
The ‘SNL’ skit began with Baldwin’s makeup-covered face flashing on the screen and welcoming Kamala to the stage. Maya came out in her Kamala outfit and sat on chairs across from Baldwin.
By the time the actual interview was taking place, Alec and Maya were talking to each other the entire time… starting with the opening salvo – asking Veep how many millions of murderers she has allowed into the country through illegal immigration.
The joke of the piece came with Bret accusing Kamala of trying to capture a viral moment, and she responded that he was just trying to get her to say “something bad.”
As they go back and forth, Alec tells Maya that she’s sexy when she’s angry. Hilarious moment in the skit…but it DIDN’T happen IRL.
The ‘SNL’ opening skit also included the guy who currently plays Trump, James AustinJohnson — as he absurdly discussed transgender issues and hilariously danced to The Village People’s “YMCA” — both took place IRL.
