Zayn Malikis still reeling from Liam Payne’s death… announcing moments ago that he is postponing his “Stairway to the Sky” tour following this week’s “heartbreaking loss.”
The singer-songwriter posted a short message on his Instagram Story… telling fans that he needs to postpone the North American leg of his tour – and is rescheduling it for January.
ZM says he plans to post updated dates in the coming days… and is thanking fans for their compassion and understanding during this time.
Zayn’s US leg was due to begin next week in San Francisco, followed by shows in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York.
It’s worth noting… Zayn only mentions the US tour dates – not the UK ones which take place in mid-November. It’s unclear whether he plans to perform on those dates.
Ticketmaster and other ticket sellers have already posted notices on their websites stating that the tour is postponed.
As you know… Liam Payne died after falling from his third-floor hotel room in Argentina on Wednesday – with at least one staff member saying he “jumped off the balcony of his room”.
All of Liam’s bandmates paid tribute to him in the days following his death… including Zayn, who posted a message saying he had lost a brother who always spoke his mind – something Malik says he secretly respected him for.
