Millions of women and men have received referrals to colon and cervical cancer prevention programs on their cell phones in recent days.
As part of the PROLAMPANO National Prevention Program, more than 4 million electronic referrals have already been issued in less than a week, calling on beneficiaries to schedule preventive exams and not neglect them.
They are an important reminder that our health begins with prevention.
Colon Cancer Testing Beneficiaries
For the Colon Cancer Prevention Program, referrals were issued to 1,461,560 beneficiaries. This program concerns women and men, aged between 50 and 69, who have AMKA, whether insured or not.
Beneficiaries can obtain a free self-test at Ministry of Health partner pharmacies and, if there is a positive result in the self-test, they can undergo a free clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist and, if deemed appropriate, a free diagnostic colonoscopy. will also be carried out.
Pap test and HPV molecular DNA
For the Cervical Cancer Prevention Program, 2,619,868 women were referred for a Pap test (for women ages 21 to 29) or an HPV DNA molecular test (for women ages 30 to 29). 65 years).
The Cervical Cancer Prevention program concerns women between the ages of 21 and 65 who have AMKA, whether insured or not. Furthermore, the program offers the possibility of a completely free re-examination for women for whom results are available.
Remember that all beneficiaries of preventive examinations receive their referrals through an intangible prescription or upon presentation of their AMKA at health structures and collaborating pharmacies.
The National Prevention Program “PROLAMPANO” was prepared by Deputy Minister of Health Irini Agapidakis. It is implemented by IDIKA SA, a body of the Ministry of Digital Governance, funded by the Greek National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2.0 and is part of a broader and integrated strategy for cancer prevention.
