A second THAAD array reportedly requested the Israel by the US, to protect the country in the event of an Iranian response to an expected Israeli attack.
This information was broadcast by Channel 12.
Remember that on Sunday, the Pentagon confirmed the deployment of an advanced THAAD anti-ballistic system in Israel, along with American soldiers to operate it.
What is THAAD?
THAAD is considered a complementary system to the Patriot system, but can defend a wider area, capable of hitting targets at distances of 150-200 kilometers.
Each set consists of six truck-mounted launchers, 48 interceptors, radio and radar equipment and requires 95 soldiers to operate.
Iran is bracing for Israeli retaliation after the Oct. 1 attack, which it said was in response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon last month that killed the leadership of the Hezbollah terrorist group, an Iranian proxi, and in a bombing of July bombing in Tehran that killed the head of Hamas’s political bureau, Ismail Haniya.
