Dr. Marwan Al-Homs, Director of Field Hospitals at the Ministry of Health Gaza Stripstates that the healthcare system in the besieged enclave “is currently under destruction and destruction.”
“Our wounded and injured patients cannot find treatment and die without any intervention,” he said.
Speaking at a press conference, he issued an “appeal for help” calling on the international community to “save northern Gaza before it is too late”.
He said Israeli forces are completely destroying the northern part of the Gaza Strip and “committing massacres and acts of genocide against our people.”
“We are obliged to work with priority”
“Hospitals cannot provide care due to the overwhelming number of victims and the high number of deaths. Our hospitals do not have the capacity for injured people, intensive care units are full of serious cases and we are forced to work with priority.”
“Neonatal units are overcrowded, with no space for newborns or premature babies. Every patient needing care is delayed, and some cesarean sections have been postponed until a bed becomes available for a child in need.”
“Our affected, injured and sick, as well as medical personnel, civil protection groups and the Palestinian people cannot find food, they have nothing to eat.”
He said that Israeli forces are deliberately blocking the entry of fuel and that the quantities allowed are insufficient to meet the needs of the Gaza population.
